Nawaal Ali is the Founder and Principal Solicitor of Knights & Shah Solicitors, specialising in housing law, landlord and tenant matters and civil and property litigation.

Nawaal has substantial experience advising on contentious housing and property matters, including possession and eviction proceedings, rent arrears, tenancy breaches, housing disrepair, injunctions, tenancy deposit disputes and wider civil litigation.

Her professional background includes advising London local authorities on a broad range of housing matters, including homelessness, possession proceedings, housing disrepair, injunctions and tenancy fraud. This experience has given Nawaal a detailed understanding of housing disputes from both a legal and practical perspective.

Nawaal has also developed extensive advocacy experience, appearing before District Judges in courts across England. She acts for landlords, tenants, businesses and individuals and is experienced in managing matters from the initial advice and pre-action stages through to court proceedings, hearings and resolution.

As Founder and Principal Solicitor, Nawaal leads Knights & Shah Solicitors and is closely involved in the firm's legal work, client service and strategic direction. Her approach is centred on providing clear, practical advice while pursuing the best possible outcome for each client.

Atif Khan is Head of Immigration at Knights & Shah Solicitors and an experienced immigration law specialist with over 10 years' post-qualification experience.

Atif leads the firm's immigration practice, advising individuals, families and businesses across a broad range of UK immigration and nationality matters. His expertise encompasses personal and family immigration, work and study routes, business immigration and sponsor licensing, settlement and British citizenship, immigration appeals and challenges to Home Office decisions, asylum, human rights and protection matters.

Atif has extensive experience advising businesses and employers on Sponsor Licence applications, Skilled Worker sponsorship, Certificates of Sponsorship, sponsor compliance, right to work requirements and Home Office compliance matters, including issues involving the refusal, suspension and revocation of Sponsor Licences.

He also advises individuals and families on a wide range of immigration matters, including spouse and partner visas, fiancé and fiancée applications, parent and child routes, work and study visas, Indefinite Leave to Remain, long residence, British citizenship and nationality matters.

Atif's expertise extends to complex immigration cases and challenges to Home Office decisions, including visa refusals, Administrative Reviews, immigration appeals, First-tier and Upper Tribunal proceedings, Judicial Review and matters involving Home Office delay.

He also advises on asylum and human rights matters, including asylum applications and appeals, Article 8 claims, humanitarian protection, fresh claims and further submissions, immigration detention and bail, deportation and other protection-related matters.

As Head of Immigration, Atif oversees the firm's immigration practice and plays a central role in the management and progression of immigration matters at Knights & Shah Solicitors.

Suniti Dattani is a Consultant Solicitor at Knights & Shah Solicitors with over 20 years’ experience in dispute resolution and civil and commercial litigation.

Suniti has extensive experience in property litigation and landlord and tenant disputes, together with a broader practice encompassing contractual disputes, debt and insolvency matters, professional negligence and contentious probate.

Throughout her career, Suniti has acted on a wide range of contentious matters, from County Court proceedings to high-value High Court and international litigation. Her property experience includes residential and commercial possession proceedings, forfeiture, rent arrears recovery, TOLATA claims, boundary disputes and disputes involving freeholders and developers.

Suniti has also held senior positions including Head of Litigation and Head of Civil & Commercial Litigation, with experience managing litigation departments and supervising junior legal professionals.

At Knights & Shah Solicitors, Suniti brings her extensive dispute resolution experience to property and civil litigation matters, providing clients with clear, practical and commercially focused advice.

Kamran Rahman is a Consultant Commercial Property Solicitor with over 20 years’ experience advising on a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including complex and high-value matters.

Kamran acts for investors, developers and occupiers, advising on acquisitions and disposals, commercial leases, property development and the management of commercial real estate portfolios. His experience extends to drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases, development agreements, joint venture agreements, rights to light agreements, easements and other property documentation.

During his career, Kamran has advised on a diverse range of commercial property assets including offices, retail parks, shopping centres, distribution hubs and industrial premises. He has worked alongside surveyors, architects, engineers and other professional advisers on long-term development projects and commercial transactions.

His experience also includes site acquisitions, joint venture development arrangements, lease negotiations, Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals, title reporting for lenders, corporate due diligence and property-related tax matters including SDLT and VAT.

Kamran combines his extensive legal experience with a strong understanding of the commercial objectives behind property transactions, taking a practical and commercially focused approach to helping clients achieve their objectives.

Zerda is a Paralegal at Knights & Shah Solicitors, working closely with Principal Solicitor Nawaal Ali and supporting the firm's solicitors across a range of client matters.

She plays an important role in the day-to-day progression of cases, assisting with case management, legal research, document preparation, client correspondence and the organisation of court and matter documentation. Alongside her legal work, Zerda supports the firm's administrative and technology systems, helping to ensure that matters are managed efficiently and clients receive a responsive service.

Zerda graduated from the University of Surrey with an Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) LLB Law degree. During her legal studies and early professional experience, she developed practical experience in legal research, court proceedings, client-facing advisory work and commercial law.

Before joining Knights & Shah Solicitors, Zerda gained experience as a Volunteer Legal Adviser with Citizens Advice, interviewing clients, assessing legal and welfare enquiries, maintaining case records and assisting with the progression of ongoing matters. She has also undertaken court-based legal research at Guildford Magistrates' Court and completed a commercial law virtual internship with Hogan Lovells, involving legal research and drafting exercises.

At Knights & Shah Solicitors, Zerda combines her legal training with strong organisational and technical skills and is a key member of the team supporting the effective management and progression of client matters.
